Ingredients
  • For Baked Meatballs:
  • 1 lb mild Italian sausage
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded or diced zucchini
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For Cheese and Sauce Topping
  • 1½ cup Basil Pasta Sauce that has no sugar added
  • 8 ounces of shredded monterey jack or Mexican 4 cheese
Instructions
  1. Spray casserole dish with cooking spray and pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients for meatballs in a medium sized bowl and mix them together well.
  3. Form into round balls using an ice cream scooper and line an inch apart in casserole dish.
  4. Place into dish in oven and bake for 30 minutes until browned.
  5. Dispose extra grease and fat from dish
  6. Add pasta sauce and then cheese to casserole dish, making sure to completely cover meatballs.
  7. Bake for another 8-10 minutes and broil for another 2 minutes until cheese is browned.
